Synopsis
Godspell is a musical and rock opera that retells the Gospel According to Matthew, beginning with the arrival of John the Baptist and continuing through the crucifixion. It focuses on Jesus's teachings and the formation of a community of followers through song and dance.
Set in modern times on an urban college campus rife with dissent and antagonism, the story follows Jesus's use of parables and music to spread his messages of love, tolerance, hope, and most importantly in these divisive times, forgiveness.
Godspell Is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
